Description

Chateau Siran is a left bank bordeaux winery, the second wine of Siran, Saint-Jacques. It is one of Margaux’s oldest estates (1428) and has been owned and managed by six generations of the Miailhe family since 1858. The Saint-Jacques cuvee is sourced from an estate-owned 9 hectare plot which immediately borders the 24 hectares of Margaux vines used to make Siran’s grand vin. While outside the Margaux appellation, this adjacent terroir produces rich and well-structured wines from centuries of alluvial deposits from the Garonne River that have covered over gravel. Saint-Jacques is completely hand-picked and sorted, carefully vinified and aged for approximately ten months in barrel.

Fresh fruits bring attractive spiciness as well as black-currant acidity to this wine. The structure and tannins balance the fruit. Drink from 2021.

This bottling is a blend of 42% Merlot, 29% Cabernet and 29% Cabernet Franc.

This bottling is a Bordeaux Superior classification.
